Field Academic Exchange: FUNDECOR hosts international students in Sarapiquí

In January 2026, we hosted a group of students from the University of St. Thomas (Minnesota), who completed an Environmental Ethics program in Costa Rica as part of an academic experience developed in Monteverde alongside CIEE Costa Rica.

During the visit, FUNDECOR facilitated field learning spaces to explore reforestation and sustainable forest management experiences, as well as to discuss key topics such as environmental sustainability, economic viability, conservation, and their link with rural communities.

This exchange allowed for connecting academic knowledge with territorial reality and strengthening informed dialogue on the role of forest plantations within integrated landscape management.
