FSC® Group Forest Certification

FSC® Group Forest Certification

Since 1997, with the objective of ensuring that the forestry activities it promotes on its client families' farms are executed responsibly from an environmental, social, and economic perspective, FUNDECOR has made the effort to obtain FSC Group Forest Certification. This certification annually evaluates, through globally recognized standards and policies, the forestry projects that fall within the scope of this certification.

FUNDECOR was a pioneer in Latin America, being the first administrator of a "certificate

umbrella,” which brings together families and small-scale forest producers, guaranteeing the sustainable management of natural forests and forest plantations. FUNDECOR has held valid certificates for the periods 1997-2001, 2001-2006, 2007-2012, 2014-2019, 2019-2024, and the current one from 2026 to 2031. Currently, 5,334.42 hectares are under the scope of the group forest certification.

Among the main benefits of forest certification are:
-Ensures that forest management practices protect biodiversity, ecosystems, and natural resources, promoting the long-term conservation of forests.

The certification guarantees that wood and other forest products come from legal and responsibly managed sources, helping to combat illegal logging.
-Promotes reforestation, the restoration of degraded lands, and the maintenance of forest ecosystem health.
-Forest certification standards require respect for labor rights and worker safety.
-Promotes local economic and social development.

This scheme allows client families to access international standards that strengthen the sustainability and traceability of their forestry operations.
