Since its inception, FUNDECOR has promoted sustainable forest management as an economic alternative for owners of forested areas suitable for timber harvesting, without neglecting the ecological benefits of forests, by ensuring proper forest management planning. Forest harvesting encourages forest conservation, as only trees of abundant commercial species are utilized, while rarer and endangered species are protected, water protection areas are conserved, and impact is minimized through the use of low-impact harvesting techniques.
In forests belonging to client families with potential for harvesting, after conducting a preliminary assessment, FUNDECOR develops a management plan following the national regulations that govern this activity and manages the approval process with SINAC. Once the management plan is approved, FUNDECOR rigorously supervises the harvesting to ensure that what is stipulated in the management plan is fulfilled in the field.

It can also be complemented, if the forest owner requires it, by marketing the timber resulting from forest harvesting. This support during the commercialization process aims to improve profitability for the forest owner, as timber auctions generally secure better sales prices. This support remains open to forest owners interested in developing sustainable forest management processes on their properties, with the technical backing of FUNDECOR.

Depending on the location of the forest and its technical feasibility, forest management can be developed in various regions of the country, in accordance with current regulations.
