FUNDECOR collected field information from 205 coffee-producing agroforestry farms, located in various coffee-growing regions of Costa Rica, with the objective of obtaining key data on their production and environmental practices. This work allowed for an analysis of the performance of farms certified under the Rainforest Alliance standard in relation to the Regenerative Agriculture scorecard,
identifying progress, opportunities for improvement, and priority areas for technical assistance.
Additionally, the process included establishing a baseline for carbon emissions associated with coffee cultivation on certified farms, representing a significant step toward understanding the sector's climate impact and guiding future sustainability actions. This
information contributes to strengthening decision-making, promoting regenerative practices, and highlighting the efforts of producers working toward a more environmentally responsible coffee industry.
