"Buena Madera" Program: Implementation of Forest Value Chains through Sustainable Forest Management
The forest linkage project developed by FUNDECOR has successfully broken down the liquidity barrier (initial investment) and effectively coordinated the financing of sustainable forest management plans. This has facilitated access to the financial resources necessary for planning and executing timber management, harvesting, and transport activities. Furthermore, technical support was provided throughout the project. This management has contributed to strengthening the participation of
forest owners in formal sustainable forest management processes for productive timber resources and to ensure the traceability of forest harvesting.
Furthermore, FUNDECOR has coordinated the contracting of specialized service providers for timber harvesting and transport, ensuring that these activities are carried out under appropriate technical, legal, and operational criteria. This collaboration has enabled improved efficiency in the chain.
Additionally, FUNDECOR has facilitated the evolution of the traditional forest production chain into value chains, in which strategic links have been established with various stakeholders in the wood and wood products consumer sector, facilitating more stable and transparent marketing channels for forest producers.
